The Title Theme is a lush,
orchestrally arranged excerpt from Morningstone, the haunting invitation
sung in the story by Laura Webster, the goddess of love. With this
spooky arrangement, I hope to suggest a certain grandeur and scope (you're
going to get your money's worth) and an exotic sense of mystery (you've
never experienced anything like this, before). It should also work
really well with images of a barn owl in flight, but it is not genuine
program music. It is an orchestral version of the title song, which
came first, so the visual program had to be written to go with it, not
the other way around. Before you're finished exploring the music
of Morningstone, you should have a pretty good idea of what program music
is and isn't. I hope that knowledge will enhance your enjoyment of
all movie and TV scores, for the rest of your life. That would be
something, wouldn't it?
